SAFETY SUMMER 2017

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]IS YOUR BUILDING OSHA COMPLIANT?  Are the ladders in your facility compliant with the new OSHA 1910 regulation? OSHA has recently published a revised OSHA 1910 regulations for fall protection.  The new regulation went into effect on January 17, 2017, but you still have time to ensure your building is compliant with this new final rule.

The new final rule does not apply to portable ladders.

What can you do to prepare for these changes?

    1. 1. Start working on modifying your design standards for fixed ladders to meet the new requirements. New requirement goes into effect on 11/19/2018.
    1. 2. Complete a hazard assessment and inventory of your ladders. This will help you determine which and how many you need to modify to meet the new requirement.
    1. 3. Develop a phasing plan. Although, you have plenty of time to meet this new requirement, we recommend not waiting too long to prevent injuries.
